My apartment manager said she’s not responsble for lending keys to an employee and my belongings dissapearing!

randbj41811 asked:

She said that it was an emergency pest control for roaches so she gave the keys to the pest control guy named James, they gave notice without saying the date or time and the police said he coudn’t help. When I came back from work my TV, notebook, and some valuables were gone. She said it’s my fault because I wasn’t home.

I filed a police report and he said he couldn’t do anything because I didn’t have any cameras in my apartment, how outrageous.

Also they’re saying I can’t install a chain door lock because it’s illegal in this apartment.

Please help me find out how I can have this problem solved. The manager said next time if I’m not home again the pest control has the right to come in, and if anything dissapears I am the one responsible for not being home. Why are they saying this that sounds outrageous?

I think a lawyer is no good because things that were missing were not more than $2000, and the police already said I didn’t have this recorded on camera.

Someone took my spot in the apartment with out my consent and my name is still on the lease, what do I do?

surfsup36 asked:

Sorry I know this is long BUT I REALLY NEED THE HELP!

I’ve asked pretty much the same question before but still haven’t gotten a good enough response. But basically I had to move out of my apartment which I had a roomate in to move back home for personal reseasons. I can’t sublet the place because its against the rules, and I tried finding another person to replace me as a roommate but the guy I was living with had to sign off on it and he wouldn’t do it unless he knew the person which is understandable. I found someone he knows, the only problem is that there is still a hold on the guys name from another complex because the people he was living with owe money, so basically until his name is cleared he cant get approved. On the side I’ve already moved all my stuff out but I have still paid this months rent, and plan to do so since I have no other option until the guy gets approved. Now heres the thing, the guy that cant get approved moved all his stuff in the apartment becuase my roomate lent him his keys and let him and now he’s living in my room unnaproved and not consented by me or the apartment complex and my roomate and the guy taking my spot are giving me the runaround saying that they dont really have time to take care of the paper work to do this all in a orderly and proper manner. What should I do to either get my name off the lease or get these guys in place to take care of this stuff?

THANK YOU FOR THE HELP!!!!1

My fiance & I are non-working law students and want to purchase a home/condo. Who might lend us the money?

Laura asked:

More details to prevent some of the sarcastic/unhelpful answers I got the first time around:
We both have excellent credit.
We would pay with student loans
In lieu of purchasing, we will have to rent an apartment and use student loans to pay the rent - in our city, we are looking at somewhere between $1000 and $1500 for a one bedroom. Thus, purchasing and paying into something seems preferable to watching the rent fly out the window every month.
We were specifically looking for a program that caters to grad/professional students. We anticipate making over $300k combined in 2 1/2 years.
Please don’t answer if you can’t offer any helpful information. We know that this is not the best situation for home purchase, but are trying to work with our options.
Thanks!

How can I find out if Loan Agent screwed up?

BiStnder1 asked:

Friend of mine just tried to purchase a home. Credit is ok, but stable income is an issue. However, the real estate company (which acts as lending broker and realtor) have given him positive assurances for several weeks. It’s been nearly a month and he keeps being told all is fine. He was told three weeks ago to give notice at his apartment as of the 1st. Twice last week he was told he’d get the final dox and keys in the coming days. Today, (31st) he was told the bank rejected the loan because of the shaky income. Seems to me this means either the broker sat on the paperwork for a couple weeks before submitting it, or the bank rejected it a couple weeks back and the lender’s been looking for alternatives. Long story short, tomorrow’s the 1st and he and his roommate have to be out of the apartment…they can’t extend it. Broker says he’s looking for other lenders (at a now higher rate). Is it likely the bank took a month to decide income was an issue?
One other note: Part of the “plan” with this loan agent was that they deposited money in my friend’s bank account so that when the lender looked at savings accounts, they would see the required assets. I know when I bought my home they told me I had to have the money in my account for a certain length of time to show that it wasn’t a gift, loan from a friend, etc. Is it legal for a real estate company/lending broker to use their funds to demonstrate the required monies are in the buyers account?

Renting an apartment in another state, before I move? How do I do this?

nick a asked:

I know I posted several questions relating to me moving to hawaii, however I just booked my flight for September 1st of 2008.One way ticket to Honolulu! I will be living there for a year or two. I want to know how I can book an apartment with a roomate now, so I know I will be secured when I arrive there. I am not sure if people will lend me the apartment now, since it is 8 months away. I have enough money for 3-4 months rent in advance. I dont want to wait until say July or August and still trying to find a place. If it happens it happens and I may need to wait til that time to have it secured, I just want it secured now so I am not going to worry about it come that time. Any help is appreciated!

How to qualify for a mortgage for a house with a in law unit?

r asked:

Under normal lending standards, what is taken into consideration for qualifying for a house that has an apartment that can be rented for additional income while the owner lives in the main house.

I have done this before with a house I owned for 3 years, but it was when loans were easier to get in 2003.

What are the credit scores, down payment %, etc. needed? How is the rental income calulated into the affordability?

First Apartment - Need Advise?

X asked:

I want to get my own apartment and get a puppy to keep me company in Danbury, CT I want too live near my job so I could go home to lunch to walk the dog. Currently I am looking in the Sunday paper for aprtmts for rent but hardly anyone accepts pets. My credit is beyond horrible but I will have enough for 1st, 2nnd and 3rd months rent in place of a credit check. Also I currently take home 2300 a month. What should I be able to afford. What are the first things I should do first. Note - I have no furniture of my own. Are there lenders out there who would lend money with people with credit less that 500?

Rent control question in NJ?

Sofia asked:

My father lives in a rent- controlled apartment in NJ. He is lending me his name to rent an apartment in NYC, while I attend school- although the financial burden will be entirely mine. If he keeps his permanent residence in NJ, but rents this place for me- can he lose his rent- control status in NJ?
